Halima Cassell’s work sits at the meeting point of geometry, rhythm and human connection – sculpture carved with a sense of energy that feels both ancient and unmistakably contemporary.

Born in Pakistan, raised in Lancashire and now based in Shropshire, Halima Cassell MBE is known for her distinctive fusion of architecture, geometry and hand-carved form. Her work draws on Asian heritage, African pattern, and a lifelong fascination with the universal language of numbers. In 2021 she was appointed MBE for services to art, and in 2023 she was shortlisted, alongside Thomas Heatherwick, for the design of the Queen’s Memorial. Her work appears in major public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Hepworth Wakefield and Birmingham Art Gallery. The Soden Collection is proud to represent her and to be the exclusive gallery for her new series, the Shards.
