Portraits that explore the intimacy, vulnerability and complexity of being human.
Robert Lenkiewicz (1941–2002) was a British figurative painter whose work explored human relationships, social exclusion and mortality. Closely associated with Plymouth, he painted people from across its community, including those often overlooked by society. His portraits combine close observation with an enduring interest in the emotional and philosophical questions that shape our lives.
